Forza Horizon 6 Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 are not yet released. While the base game launched on May 19, 2026 (with Early Access starting May 15), Playground Games hasn’t announced the maps, themes, or release dates for either expansion.

Even though you can’t play them yet, you can secure access so they download automatically the moment they go live. Here’s how to prepare your game and optimize your progress.

How to Secure Expansions 1 & 2

To be ready for day-one access, you need to own the digital licenses:

Premium Edition – Includes both expansions automatically. Once released, your game will prompt an update.

Premium Upgrade Bundle – If you own the Standard/Deluxe edition or play via Xbox Game Pass, buying this bundle ensures you get both expansions.

Standalone Expansion Bundle – Some storefronts offer a package containing just Expansion 1 and Expansion 2.

Tips to Prepare Your Campaign

Historically, Forza Horizon expansions need you to progress past the tutorial or main showcase events before the new map becomes playable. Here’s how to get ahead:

1. Farm Horizon Festival XP

Many endgame features are gated behind Festival XP. Don’t skip Speed Zones, Danger Signs, and Drift Zones—these count toward your overall progression and prevent a roadblock when expansions drop.

2. Max Out the "Discover Japan" Collection Journal

Rare map content, including Barn Finds, is tied to your Discover Japan Stamp Rank rather than your wristband. Earn stamps by completing regional Stories, finding hidden mascots, and finishing delivery side-jobs.

3. Use Drone Mode to Scout Hidden Collectibles

Drone Mode helps locate secrets quickly. Press Down on the D-Pad for your AI assistant ANNA, then Up to deploy the drone. It maps collectibles automatically, saving tons of travel time.

4. Take Advantage of Free Fast Travel

Fast travel is available from the start. Use it to hop between regions, complete seasonal challenges, and earn Wheelspins to expand your garage before the expansions arrive.
